Nintendo hints at Switch 2 release amid production leaks

Chris Ding of GamesIndustry.biz suggested that whispers about an announcement are circulating, though Nintendo has warned that no Switch 2 news will be featured in upcoming Directs.

Analyst David Gibson of MST Financial confirmed that mass production of the Switch 2 is underway.

Assembler Hosiden is investing ¥2 billion in new equipment and ¥1 billion in automation to meet the production demand, adding weight to the possibility of a 2024 launch.

While Nintendo has confirmed the Switch 2's release 'within fiscal year,' leakers NateTheHate and TvPH have claimed that the new console will feature backwards compatibility.

This will allow it to support both physical and digital Switch titles, easing the transition for fans and developers alike.

New games expected to be released on both the Switch and Switch 2 include The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom and Super Mario Party Jamboree.

With no official unveiling date set, the gaming community eagerly awaits further news.

As excitement builds, it seems Nintendo is focused on ensuring a seamless transition, allowing both old and new titles to shine on the next-gen console.
